Madison County, TN Farm Reclaim with
Tree Transplanting
The Turner project was an old cattle farm that had been left dormant for 15+ years. The entire front property line had grown up in unwanted vegetation and undesirable tree species.
The entire frontage of the property along US Highway 70 East was cleared and new fencing and gates installed.
We installed a new entrance on the west side of the property and installed a culvert and rocked the drive over the existing creek.
We transplanted oaks that had grown up into strategic spots on the farm with the tree spade and this saved the owner roughly $3000-$4000 if the trees had been purchased from a nursery. These oaks were transplanted, limbed, and fertilized and were about 12 feet tall each. They will provide a great landscape for this farm in the future.
We cleaned up and eliminated undesirable fence rows and built a road through the woods with the excavator and dozer to connect the barn to the back hay fields.
We eliminated old cattle ponds that were very shallow and were a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
We planted persimmon trees and other fruit trees on the backside of the property along with deer stands for hunting.
The farm is ready for livestock/horses or for hay production.
