Deepening of Existing Lake &
Construction of Dock/Gazebo
Existing ponds and lakes can become silted in and be overrun by invasive plants and trees. This project was a complete renovation of a lake that had been in existence for 50 years.
Over time the lake had accumulated silt and at its deepest point was only 5 feet deep. This allowed invasive plants to grow unchecked since sunlight was able to reach the lake bed. This also contributed to poor fish quality. The owner also wanted to build a dock/gazebo style structure that would allow use of the lake even on the hottest summer days.
The lake was drained and deepened and the levy was refortified and a new spillway constructed.
The areas around the lake were also planted and graded to catch sediment before it entered the lake.
The lake was restocked with fish and is now 15 feet deep at it’s deepest point.
The fish have thrived and it has been a great place to relax and enjoy.
